South Tees Hospital in the UKLike many healthcare organizations around the world, South Tees Hospital in the UK is striving to crete a more caring-orientated human culture among and between all of its employees, as a pre-requisite to improving the quality of care for patients, The Senior Executive team at South Tees recognized that they would need to learn how to behave toward one another in a more "caring" manner first. It was decided, based on a related Temenos survey of the health of the behavioral culture at South Tees, that the TBM would be a useful tool in supporting the Senior Team. |
| The specific coaching focus was to work directly
with the internal OD person at South Tees. Using data she
collected using TBM, her one current behavioral strengths and areas
of potential growth were identified. (Because the TBM is web-based,
she and her coach were looking at her TBM results simultaneously
as if they were side-by-side, in spite of being 11 time zones apart!).
The implementation of the personal development plan, which emerged from her feedback data, included, very consciously, coaching her in how to work with her Senior Executives, as their coach, as they begin to use TBM themselves. This "watch one, do one, teach one" model is an essential element in coaching coaches. |
